A series of exchanges between artists and researchers, the Happenings provide an open space for interaction and exchange of knowledge beyond the framing of online seminars and talks. Inspired by Allan Kaprow’s coining of the term ‘happening’ to describe the art performances that were going on at an art picnic on George Segal’s farm in 1959, the Happenings are experimental, curious and unique events. They are monthly events, open to interested students from all Shared Campus universities.

As the Happenings are open, speculative and spontaneous, it is up to the hosts to define a format – be it a live-streamed walk, a cooking show or a conversation. The first series of of Happenings relate to the theme of Care, and provide an open space for discussion and interaction across disciplines and borders.
