Conference: Global Pop Cultures

Description:

“Global Pop Cultures. Moving Beyond the High-Low, East-West Divide” was meant to shed light on pop-related research carried out by the different partner institutions, and to initiate a dialogue among the respective researchers. Participating researchers from Europe and Asia introduced their fields of interest with presentations open to the public. They covered a wide range of topics such as the cultural impact of smart devices, aesthetics of digital self-imaging, transcultural tendencies of music, representation of death and mental illnesses in social media, philosophy of superheroes, emotional transnationalism in female artists, and more.
