Transcultural Collaboration 2019: Bonds & Ties

Description

Taking place in Zurich and Hong Kong, the semester programme Transcultural Collaboration is organised by seven art universities from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Switzerland. The latest semester topic was focused on different forms of bonds and ties, including those with our body, family, friends, society, cultures, animals, plants or objects. Participants explored the bonds and ties they encounter in their lives, examined how they are constructed, why they might exist and how to become aware of them. Which social and cultural norms influence (y)our behaviour, shape our habits and constitute our rules and laws? Where do such bonds and ties become visible or invisible? What is the role of creative practice in this context? And which ties affect (y)our artistic work?
