Curating on the Move – Taipei Biennial 2020 x Critical Zones/ZKM
Discursive workshop on the themes of “New Diplomatic Encounters”, ecology and community

Dates: 24 – 27 November 2020, daily 9.00am – 2.30 pm CET

The seminar follows the notions the Taipei Biennial 2020 and the related exhibition “Conflict Zones” at ZKM/Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe – both curated by Bruno Latour and Martin Guinard – and will unfold thinking about the idea of “New Diplomatic Encounters” through the question of coming communities. The workshop consists of reading and discussing the theoretical framework of the exhibitions and art works, of digital guided tours of the two exhibitions, and other inputs by artists, curators and lecturers. We will also explore encounters in a more unforeseeable way with the scores from the project “Small Projects for Coming Communities”.

This workshop is part of the Shared Campus Initiative and a cooperation between the Shared Campus partners Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), School of Creative, City University of Hong Kong) and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK)

Enrolment deadline: 16 November 2020
The course times are daily from 9.00 – 12.00am, and 1.00 – 2.30pm CET
Shared time with students in Taipei: at Swiss Time 9.00 – 12.00am = Taipei time 4.00 – 7.00pm.
The course ends Friday, at noon. A detailed schedule will be send out with the enrolment information.
The applicants need to make sure to able to attend the whole program.

Participants:

The seminar is aimed at advanced students and/or PhD students of any disciplines.
PhD students of PhD in Practice in Curating of ZHdK & Reading University and PhD students of City University Hong Kong will take part as participants.
